INCOMING TIDES
An incoming tide, or rising tide, is considered one of the best fishing tide times. Water that enters an estuary area from the ocean can have a lower temperature, contain more oxygen, and have better clarity than the water that exists in the estuary during low tide or slack water periods.
So, do fish bite better at high or low tide?
In general, fishing is better when there is tide running and it happens during the middle period of the tide and not during the high or low levels of the tide. Snappers as well as other species of fish, bite more when the water flows continuously. However, the biting stops when the tide is near the high or low water.
Similarly, what tide is best for beach fishing?
The couple of hours leading up to the peak of high tide and the following couple of hours after the tide turns have always been considered the best time to hit the beach for jewies. But there's just as much likelihood of beaching a good fish during low tide if your gutter still retains enough depth.
How do the tides affect fishing?
Tides and fishing conditions are related because tides cause the movement of water. When there is an increase in current or water movement, fish are more likely to feed and are easier to catch. The water movement causes an associated increase in the activity of various marine organisms.
Is it good to fish during low tide?
Neither the high tide nor the low tide is the best time to fish. Instead, look to fish during the middle periods, between the flooding or falling tides. The high and low points are not good times to fish.
